1) Quick overview

«NetDiscover MIB Studio» (previous known as «NetDiscover MIB Editor») simplifies and reduces considerably times of MIB files development: it enables you to identify and quickly correct the errors.

«NetDiscover MIB Studio» is a simple to use software: with a click (or the key 'F5'), the product compiles all your MIBs in an autonomous way and lists all errors.When the compilation is finished, the product displays:

the tree view of each MIB module

the tree view of the whole MIBs

«NetDiscover MIB Studio» allows you to provide MIB files without error. So these files can be easily integrated into Network Management System (NMS).The quality of a network product is also evaluated with the quality of the MIB files provided.

Text Color Editor (SMIv1 and SMIv2 )

The text editor supports the colorized syntax of the two SMI (Structure of Management Information) language versions.At the opening of each MIB file, the editor automatically finds the proper language version.

The compilation of all MIB files only requires a click on the button (or the key 'F5').

A double-click on the error's body (or on the key 'Space') edits the MIB file at the right position.

«NetDiscover MIB Studio» runs on PC in Windows 32 bits environment (Win32).

Hard disk	30 Mo available (It depends on the number of MIB files)
Processor (CPU)	Pentium 500 MHz or more
Memory RAM	64 minimum Mo of RAM (128 recommended)
Screen resolution	800x600 minimum (thousands of colors recommended)

The compiler's performances are primarily related to hard disk performances.
With a very significant number of MIB files (several thousands), it is preferable to use fast disk.

7) How to use this product?

«NetDiscover MIB Studio» was designed in order to make its use simplest as possible:

1) Download and install «NetDiscover MIB Studio».
2) Copy your MIB files in the folder: "/«NetDiscover»/MIBs".
3) Press on the key 'F5' or the button in order to start the compilation of MIB files.
4) Double-click on the error messages in order to edit and correct the errors.
5) Repeat from stage 3, as long as the MIB files cannot be correctly compiled.
6) From tree view of MIBs, check consistency between MIB files.
